Paris Saint-Germain to extend Marquinhos contract

Paris Saint-Germain are set to offer defender Marquinhos a further contract extension. Hope to be complete by the end of January

         The Brazil international centre-back has been captain of the team. Following the departure of Thiago Silva and has been in great form. Scoring three goals in 14 games in French Ligue 1 this season. It is an important force in Mauricio Pochettino’s defensive line.

         Although the club are currently contracted until 2024, PSG are keen to extend it further. With Todofichajes reporting that the club want to extend it until 2026 or 2027. 

         The report add that Marquinhos is very happy with the capital’s top club. And is ready to accept offers from the club.

         The 27-year-old has been at the club since 2013, winning six Ligue 1 titles, six French Cups, six French League Cups and six Super Cups, including second place. Also won the UEFA Champions League in 2019/20

Securing Marquinhos’ future will be a boost to the French champions, and he will expect to add to his already-impressive trophy collection with the club.

The team are currently five points clear at the top of Ligue 1 and impressed in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League, progressing unbeaten to a last-16 tie against Borussia Dortmund.
